Random people on our server are receiving duplicate emails.
I haven't but the person next to me received about 15 duplicate emails this morning. It has happened to me every once in a while with one email so i never thought much of it, but this morning seems to be getting bad. Several people are reporting annoying amounts of duplicates. Anyone else see this or know anything about it? thanks, alvar |

This problem is only getting worst and it's been 2 weeks that I have been calling support with nothing.
This may be the straw that breaks the camels back. All the email problems, this is something that our clients are really noticing. Noone else is having this problem? |

I have not seen this problem on any of my accounts. Have you tried looking through your /var/log/maillog file to see if there is anything weird going on?
Try this command to monitor the maillog file while you send and receive messages: Code:
tail -f maillog |

I myself have experienced mail duplication in these weeks on my one account. A few of mails in spam folder look like duplicated. Message-ID, other headers and body of two mails are exactly same.
I checked maillog and made sure that the mail has been processed only once. I think the problem lies with a mailer thuderbird in my case. I installed Add-On to remove duplicated messages. https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/956/ |

Have you guys been able to fix this problem? We have the same issue since we are upgraded to dedicated hosting. It does cause problems with us when customers recevie two order confirmation emails. Any fix to this by chance?

Okay, I sent a ticket to support and they had to turn off MailScanner to fix the problem. Something weired happened though I have to go to /etc/init.d to turn off MailScanner as I saw the MailScanner process was still running after support had turned it off. I think I might have to make sure that MailScanner is off each time after I had rebooted my server. May be I need to go find out where to have MS turn off permanently. I couldn't find it in chkconfig. So far I don't think I have seen duplicated email yet...

Hello All,
The issue of mail message duplication in apple os has been going for years and no appropriate solution has been provide even by the os developers. There has been some solution given in their forums but it works for some and does not for others. One of the solution that is given is , Resolution 1. In Mail, choose Mail > Preferences. 2. Click Rules. 3. Edit each rule other than the rules "News From Apple" and "Junk." Look in each rule for action under "Perform the following actions" that includes "Transfer Message, to mailbox: In" (or a custom mailbox within In). 4. If you find this action, change that part of the rule so that the message is directed to a different mailbox--one that is not the In mailbox or within the In mailbox. Note: If the rules "News From Apple" or "Junk" were previously customized, you should check them for these actions as well. If the issue persists, use these steps: 1. Quit Mail. 2. Click the Finder icon in the Dock. 3. Choose File > Find. 4. Type: MessageSorting.plist 5. Click Search. The Search Results window appears. 6. Click the file named "MessageSorting.plist". The filename should be selected, allowing you to change it. 7. Type: MessageSorting.plist.old 8. Press Return. 9. Close the Search Results window. 10. Open Mail. 11. Delete the unwanted duplicate messages. Hope this helps
